On Sunday nights, while Brentan plays hockey, I have taken to watch Masterpiece Theater on PBS. Sometimes the shows are cliched Masterpiece Theater, like Pride and Prejudice, but the last few weeks have been Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Now, I've never read the Hardy novel, but after watching the tragedy, and hopelessness of Tess, her doomed life, has made me want to read it! (I first have to finish Middlemarch) You can watch it on the PBS website, though it won't be as nice as on HDTV!

Sad, Sad Day for Pushing Daisies
Today is a sad day for Pushing Daisies. I found out that ABC will not be extending the delightfully whimsical, most creative show on television, past its initial 13 episodes this season. It is effectively canceled and done. Please join me as I mourn the loss of fantastic show.

I like Netflix, and I like Web 2.0. I also enjoy watching TV shows and movies (sometimes too much!). I especially like the ratings for movies, and how Netflix predicts what I will like. It is not always right, since it is usually a blend of Brentan and my ratings. (It thought we would like the second Indiana Jones movie, which is a huge, stereotyping, racist, bust.)
Anyways, since I like Netflix, I also think I am going to like Hulu.
I haven't signed up yet, but it looks promising for when I am out of Netflix on demand movies to watch. I mean, The Office! Arrested Development! SNL! Bad B Movies!
It is about time that television studios figured out that the web is where it is at. And all in one place! I predict that ABC and CBS follow, but maybe not for another year or so. Maybe the CW?
So I got to sign up and then I'll give it a real review.

Long weekend
I'm not going to have time to recover from this weekend. Its the last week of classes EVER! And since I partied it up hardcore (ha!) this weekend, with moving in, working two days straight, and MIT senior ball (which was amazing! -thanks Brentan ;) ). I should have been asleep at least an hour ago.

Come visit me in my apartment! I want visitors.
(Really, this apartment is consuming my life!)
And also, yay for parties. There seem to be a lot of them this time of year, and this time in my life.
And also, check out this NYTimes article, because it really sums up how I feel about Grey's:

The New Modern Woman, Ambitious and Feeble
So I may not think that it is Ally McBeal's fault, but what is up with ditzy ingenuous? Why can't women have sexy, SMART idols to follow on TV? Ones who are equal with their male co-stars? I know I've been guilty of watching a little too much Sex and the City, but at least those characters didn't always let the men they dated and lust after define who their characters were.
